The Countywide Integrated Waste Management Citizens and Technical Advisory Committee, San Diego Chapter of the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA), and Zero Waste San Diego are hosting the 2nd Annual Zero Waste Symposium: Steps Towards a Sustainable Future, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in the Campus Center Chambers (next to the Campus Center Café), County of San Diego Operations Center, 5520 Overland Avenue, San Diego, California, 92123.
A networking mixer will take place following the symposium at a location to be announced at a later date. Presentation topics will include Zero Waste principles, extended producer responsibility, source reduction, recycling, reuse and repair methods, organic discards management including food donation, diversion for animal feed, and composting. A multitude of case studies of successful programs in San Diego County will be presented by local speakers, as well as discussions on policy and compliance with the State of California’s newest recycling legislation. Speakers and sponsors soon to be announced.
Registration is $50 in advance for the general public, $40 for CRRA members and governmental employees, $20 for students and non-profit representatives, and $15 for students who donate an article of clothing to Goodwill at the door. Advanced registration is encouraged, please register before February 15th to receive the above rate a $10 service charge will be added at the door.
